Inbox Guardian setup instructions
for Microsoft Outlook Express version 6.0

Step 1: Creating the Inbox Guardian folder
- Open Outlook Express.
- Your e-mail folder list is displayed in the left window pane inside
Outlook Express.
At the top of the list is a folder called Outlook Express. Beneath
it there us
a folder
called Local Folders.
Right-click Local Folders, and click New Folder.

In the Create Folder dialog box, type “Inbox Guardian” without
quotations,
and then click OK.

Step 2: Creating the Inbox rule
- Open Outlook Express.
- Click Tools, place your pointer over Message Rules, and
click Mail.
- Click New.

In the New Mail Rule dialog box, under Select the Conditions for
your rule,
select the Where the Subject line contains specific words check box.

 | Under Select the Actions for your rule, select the Move it to
the specified folder check box. | |
 | Under Rule Description, click contains specific words. |
 | In the Type Specific Words dialog box, type “Spam:” without
quotations, and then click Add. |
 | Click OK. |
 | In the New Mail Rules dialog box under Rule Description,
click the word specified. |
 | In the Move dialog box, click Inbox Guardian, then click
OK. |
 | In the New Mail Rule dialog box under Name of the rule,
type “MSN Inbox Guardian” without quotations. |
 | Click OK twice |
